Mysterious building

The building you can see in the picture above is made up of big heavy stones and is called Stonehenge. It is built on Salisbury Plain around 5000 years ago. The roman period (43-410)

Germanic invasion (410 – 1066)

After the Romans had left Britannia, several tribes from Europe invaded and settled down. Two of these tribes were called the Angles and the Saxons. They eventually lived all over present-day England. The language they brought with them was called Anglo-Saxon and had many similarities with the German language. This language was the first form of the English language as we know it today.
