Hotdog
The hotdog is classic American finger food. You eat it out of your hands, and it is often sold on the street from a hot-dog stand. The first hotdog stand opened in New York in 1871. Today, hotdogs are still very popular across the US but especially in New York. They even have their own style of making them. An original New York hotdog is served in a soft hotdog bun with onion relish, sauerkraut and spicy mustard. Sound good, right? Click here to find the recipe!

Fast food
When thinking of the United States, fast food is probably one of the first things that pops up in your head. Around 23% of the American adults eat three or more fast food meals per week. There are a few reasons why fast food is so popular in this country. The first reason is that fast food is much cheaper in the United States. The second reason is that it is so easy! You don’t have to go to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients, you don’t have to cook and clean and your meal is often served within 10 minutes. Also, you can eat it everywhere, even in your car! Obviously, this is the reason why so many people are overweight in the US and the fast food chains are growing with them. Can you recognize the logo’s of these popular fast food chains in the US?
